Week 1: In-Field Training Phase
The first week is all about mastering the craft in real jobsite environments. Trainees will get hands-on with every aspect of refinishing, working side by side with seasoned professionals.
- Day 1 – Standard Tub (Assisting): Safety, tub identification, full prep, and assisting with the application of coatings.
- Day 2 – Standard Tub (Unassisted): Students take the lead—performing cleaning, prep, masking, and applying both primer and top coat.
- Day 3 – Advanced Repairs: Training on chips, cracks, rust, and dark or heavily stained tubs, including blending techniques for seamless finishes.
- Day 4 – Tile & Showers: Specialized instruction for dealing with grout lines, ensuring full adhesion and flawless coverage.
- Day 5 – Complex Scenarios & Wrap-Up: Stripping failed finishes, managing caulk buildup, leading full refinishes, and walking clients through proper care and maintenance.
By the end of Week 1, students will have performed complete refinishes on multiple tubs and tile systems, gaining the confidence to handle real-world job challenges.
Week 2: Business Operation Training & Setup Phase
Technical skill is only half the equation—success in refinishing requires a strong business foundation. Week 2 shifts the focus to building a profitable, professional operation from the ground up.
- Day 1 – Business Legal Setup & Financial Foundation
